Student Art Shows Talent

The yearly spring art show has recently come to an end and portrayed many different mediums of art from chalk to cardboard. This show is looked forward to by art students for the whole year and when art is finally shown, it gives a sense of pride to the artists.

This year there was a large amount of pieces from the photography and ceramic classes. Some spaces in the show were designated to singular artists like Maya Waddington who had a wall dedicated to her art about various religions. While others were dedicated to students in classes like AP Studio Art.

Classes from Potery 1 to Photography to Graphic design gets their work showcased in the library. The teachers from the different art classes choose the art that will be showcased each semester. Trinity Bonner, a veteran to the art show with this being her third time having a piece in the show, has always had a good experience with it. “It was great, it was super cool to see my art hanging up there, even though I’ve done it before the feeling stays the same.” Bonner who also in the past has produced a comic for The Eagle Quill, is in drawing and painting 3 with Ms. Adams and is only improving her talent. Along with choosing the art, all the art teachers come to the Art Show.

The Mariachi band, lead by Mr. Geare, also performed at the show. Along with the live music and the displayed art, people who attended also had food catered by Gourmet Foods.

The Art show as a whole was a beautiful collaboration of the different departments to celebrate the accomplishments of students in each department. The students from the art department got into the show for free. Their art was celebrated by students and staff alike. This is a true representation of the unity that comes when talented young people come together to showcase their work.
