“So, what is Thescon?
The Colorado Thespian Conference—known as “ThesCon”—is the biggest high school theatre conference in the state. More than 4,000 theatre students and educators from across Colorado come together for three days of workshops, performances, college auditions, competitions, and masterclasses taught by professional artists. It’s where the very best high school theatre programs gather to celebrate the arts and learn from each other. Each year, the Colorado Thespians choose only one high school play and one high school musical from the entire state to perform as official showcase productions. These shows are selected because they represent the highest level of excellence in acting, design, technical theatre, production quality, and professionalism. This year, Eaglecrest’s Theatre Department was selected as the showcase play for the entire state. That means our cast, crew, and design teams will perform She Kills Monsters downtown Denver in front of thousands of students, educators, and industry professionals from all over Colorado. This is the single biggest honor a high school theatre program can receive, and it shines a spotlight on the talent, dedication, and teamwork of our incredible students. ~ Erick Eidson, Theatre Teacher
