“A lot of my humor is “‘TikTok” humor and a lot of mannerisms I’ve picked up are from the app. There are [creators] that I kind of have a connection with; I interact with all their videos and I comment and stuff. One of my best friends met this group of people on TikTok, and now they’re great friends and planning on meeting up whenever COVID’s over.”

“There have been a lot of negative things this year, but social media lets you see a lot of information. It’s good to have once you’re exposed to that information. Like with the Palestine [conflict], the violence against people because they’re different is so sad to hear about but it kind of opens your eyes. I have friends who are impacted by it a lot more than I am, and it hurts to see that people aren’t being treated fairly or kindly because they’re “different”. It does make my day a little sadder, but it’s good to be informed, it’s good to see what’s happening and what you can do about it.”

“Over COVID, I got really into this story: it’s this Minecraft roleplay called the Dream SMP. It was all online, so they never really did anything that in-person celebrities did, and I was just never really into in-person celebrities. Their personalities all seemed really unique, and there was always that creative part of a story; it really seemed genuine. And I met other people who really liked it and that was fun.”
