In August 2019 Popeyes released a chicken sandwich that got a lot of attention. People all over social media started doing their own reviews for video content, and people started comparing it to Chick-fil-a’s chicken sandwich. 

A poll on facebook recorded 1,300 peoples answers, and 87% of people say that Chick-fil-a has a better sandwich. I asked some people around school and the majority of people said that they prefer Chick-fil-a over Popeyes. 

Security guard Duke said that Popeyes is “ight”and can be in second place because Chick-fil-a is better. Popeyes and Chick-fil-a have both a spicy and regular chicken sandwich. 

Security guard and coach, Alyson Cookes said that the spicy sandwich had spicy mayo and not spicy chicken and that kind of disappointed. 

Disagreeing, Juliane said, “Yeah it’s better than Chick-fil-a  because it tastes better and the seasoning was better than chick-fil-a.” 

When asked about the spicy sandwich Juliane said “The spicy is better than regular because of the sauce”. 

The sandwiches at Popeyes were a big hit and went quick. They bought a 7 week supply for the sandwiches and it only lasted for 2 weeks. On August 28th Popeyes announced they ran out of supply nationwide and they will bring back the sandwich permanently very soon. People loved it so much that they started selling sandwiches on ebay and tried to get hundreds of dollars for one. 

Very recently, a man filled a sue on popeyes for running out of chicken that was very popular. He filled for $2,500. The chicken sandwich from Popeyes has clearly been a very impactful menu item to the food industry, but as for the people who still haven’t gotten one, will the excitement come back? 

Our final review comes from Anasia Bruntz Gant who said “Chick-fil-a is better because I’m boujee and Popeyes is for bums and I’m rich.” She continued by saying, “Chick-fil-a has fans outside and Popeyes doesn’t.”
