Photo Essay: Denver Women’s March
On January 21, 2017, one day following the Inauguration of President Donald Trump, demonstrators took to the streets of Downtown Denver for the Women’s March. It was reported that anywhere from one hundred thousand to two hundred thousand people were in attendance.
The march begins with the Colorado State Capitol looming in the background. The sun shown bright for a majority of the march, warming what was forecasted to be a chilly day.
Spectators look down, cheering on demonstrators from a parking garage. Some hold signs and others cheer.

A woman stands on a bench attempting to locate someone. Crowds numbered an estimated one hundred thousand to one hundred fifty thousand.
Eaglecrest student Zane Mitchell-Almoustapha marches with his mother and little sister. “Women’s rights shouldn’t be decided by old men in Washington… If someone’s way of life doesn’t affect you then you don’t get a say in how they live it,” Mitchell-Almoustapha said.
