Talent Show

This Thursday, some of Eaglecrest’s most talented and impressive students came together to produce a talent show with acts ranging from an Irish Step Dance to a One Man Band.

The show is special in the way that it allows you to see students from our school in a different way and usually more in their element. Mr. Palucci, (The teacher who oversees the event along with student leadership) he said, “It gives me a chance to see kids outside the classroom dealing with things they’re very passionate about.”

The show was started with Brandon Macauley,  he was the One Man Band and played the keyboard, drums, and sang “Car radio” all at once with the help of some looping technology.

The most popular talent of the night was singing–and these students didn’t disappoint. Students Chantavia Byrd, Na’Kaila Bailey, Gaia Sewell all went on stage with nothing but their voices and performed beautiful ballads by legends like Whitney Houston.

Other singers were accompanied by guitarists like Helen Prichard (singer), James Hill (guitar), and Stephon Uinenich (drums) who put on a mashup of Suit and Tie and Pretty Young thing. The other combo of the night was with James Hill, again, and Tim Joo. Joo sang Rather Be and Where are U Now while Hill played the guitar.

There were two dancers–and they couldn’t be an more different. Danielle Newton performed and Irish step Dance to Shut Up and Dance while Jante Shields freestyled to Jason Durulos Get Ugly.

A’Shanti Harris  DJ’d his own beats with different popular songs.

We had some musical performances as well. Maggie O’Donnell and Madison Hedrick played Fall Out Boys Centuries. The EHS Orchestra performed Counting Stars by One Republic and our Jazz Band played Micheal Bubles feeling good while Juli Richardson sang along.

At the end of the night they announced the results: in fourth place, Chloe Aguillard singing I’d Rather Go Blind. In third place Newton won with her amazing performance to Shut Up and Dance. Runner up was Jante Shields with her dance to . And winner was SADIDAS. Juli Richardson  This was her second time winning the talent show. She won last year as a freshman singing Riptide by Vance Joy.
