Winter Warmup Recap
Last Friday, the students and teachers faced off in an electrifying game of basketball. The students put up a good fight, but the teachers ended victoriously. Starting off the game the announcer, Mr. O’brien, named off the players from each team. The crowd hyped up in response. The game began, and the teacher team won the tip-off. They immediately drove down the court for an easy layup — two points on the board by Ryan Brooks. The students, mildly embarrassed, tried to take the lead.
The teachers had defense on lock. They took the ball back and made their way down the court. They scored another two-pointer by Horacio Vialpando. The players go back and forth trying to make plays. The crowd got up to do some cheers for the school; the hype continued.
The game was up and running again. The teams shoot and score. The make and miss passes. After halftime, the score was tied — 33-33. The teachers started showing off a little bit; they racked up points. The students can barely keep up. With 19 teachers and 16 students, the teachers had a slight advantage and it showed. Arden Dennis, Jarris Krapcha, Vialpando, Brooks, and Tim Brennan were certainly some power players for the teachers. It also helped that they had the basketball coaches to help the teachers out. The students were able to hold their ground and not lose too badly to the teachers. But in the end, it was the teachers who won.
