The Nest Game of the Week(1/23-1/27)
The Eagle Quill’s game of the week is the Eaglecrest Girl’s Basketball(7-8) team facing off in a rematch with the Overland Girl Trailblazers(7-8).
The first match up between the two resulted in Overland winning 45-40. The Raptors started off slow, and didn’t win any quarter points until the fourth quarter. A six point differential was all the ladies needed after their 15-9 run in the last quarter to win the game.
This game, if the ladies can start the off on a faster pace they should be able to come out on top.
According to CHSAA’s new RPI system, the Lady Raptors are currently ranked No.33 and the Lady Trailblazers are ranked No.27. A win for the ladies will certainly move them up in the rankings which would get them closer to a higher seed come playoff time.
The Raptors coach, Robby Gabrielli, is beginning to find some consistent play from his ladies. With Jessica Stoner finally finding her shooting touch(she had 30 points against Smoky hill in a win), this game should be tellingĀ on how the Raptors are coming together as league play continues.
