What is known as the Rowdy Rumble has made its return to showcase the best of what Eaglecrest has to offer. The last Rowdy Rumble occurred nearly 6 years ago, where the class of 2019 led the school in a music video displaying the school’s integrated cultural and academic landscape. Now, the class of 2025 follows suit.
Bringing the Rowdy Rumble back was a no-brainer in the minds of those who were responsible for its reemerge.
Ms. LaFerrara, one of the organizers, admits that the experience back in 2019 was “such a fun experience for our staff, our students, and our community.”
The initial event shed light on the diverse population and culture that occupied the school’s halls and learning environments. However, the event this year was a little different.
More clubs and athletic teams had signed up for this music video than the previous one, meaning that this year’s display covered more of the activities and sports that make up Eaglecrest. Nonetheless, that was not the only thing changing for the new music video.
The beat and choreography for this project has adapted to the current musical landscape of today. This year’s version includes a faster and more upbeat rhythm of the song than the previous one as well as more energetic dance moves. Therefore, the school aimed to bring more vivacity and effort to the Rowdy Rumble than ever before.
“I think just even doing it better this year is what will make it the best,” said Ms. Kim, who added that this was the goal all along.
Nevertheless, it was all up to the class of 2025 to carry out the exuberance needed to make this Rowdy Rumble the biggest it has ever been before. This year’s seniors knew they had to show out after the class of 2019’s dynamic display about 6 years prior. Despite the pressure to follow up from the previous performance, the seniors not only represented but exceeded expectations in captivating fashion.
Commending the class of 2025, LaFerrara acknowledged that “there is something really positive about this class. It was very evident even in our pep assembly.”
The hard work and determination on behalf of the students and organizers to uphold the success of the Rowdy Rumble paid off. In fact, students around the Nest admit that they believe this Rowdy Rumble turned out to be the best one yet.
One attende of the fest revealed that he “absolutely” thinks that this Rowdy Rumble was better than the 2019 edition, revealing that he feels “like people are a lot more committed this time around.”
Ultimately, the second Rowdy Rumble rightfully made a name for itself. Despite having slight contrasts from the previous Rowdy Rumble, this year’s event and the first both share the quality of uniting others. The unification and engagement that both the events fostered is the reason the Rowdy Rumble always flies high.
