For the final home game for girls volleyball, the Eaglecrest Raptors played the Overland Blazers in a clean sweep beating them 3-0. The Raptors improve to 9-9 on the season and move onto Grandview for the final game of the regular season.
“Everyone was just so excited to play and to play with each other,” said senior Emily Jarzebczyk.
The team brought the most energy all season for their final home game to get a dominant sweep against the Blazers. Through the three sets the Raptors only let up 27 points compared to their 75 points. It was a very emotional game for everyone because this was the last time this group will play at The Nest together.
This might be one of the last times some people play volleyball at all in their lives, so they want to go out with a win and make sure they remember this season as a positive one and not one they dread.
“It is so beyond bitter sweet,” said senior Katie Reed.
For all the seniors, this is their last home game of their high school career. This was their final chance to end with a win and make a memory that will last forever. This sport created friendships that will last a long time after highschool and memories that will last a lifetime.
“Tonight’s game was a perfect way to end a beautiful 4 year career,” said senior Kaitlyn Reed.
The team ended the home season with a clean sweep of a rival school, and had a great time doing it.
