Highlights of Homecoming Week
October 25, 2018
Monday-
Homecoming week started off with a bang! Raptors dressed with comfy clothes on the bottom, and fancy clothes on top for Alter-ego day. The Varsity cheerleaders continued their tradition of “kidnapping” the newest members of the team, and took them out to Three Little Griddles for breakfast in the morning. Sawyer Guenzel, a new Freshman on the team, shares her excitement from getting kidnapped, “My group made me change into crazy clothes, in like 3 seconds, and then they took me to Starbucks before we met with my team at the restaurant. It was surprising, but very fun!” Raptor spirit was definitely high, many students participated in dressing up for the first day of the week.
Speech and debate started the week off by hosting the annual trivia night. With many teams participating to support their clubs, the first homecoming event was a hit! Teams were asked to answer 8 questions for each round of trivia, the questions pertaining to the category of the round. There were 5 rounds in total, and the categories were Superheros, Science, Pop Culture, Sports, and Literature/Art history. As the winning team, StuCo took home an awesome prize from Nothing Bundt Cakes along with other fun sponsors. Overall, day 1 of homecoming week was a great success.
